So did you know that not having your motorcycle tag properly affixed or able to be moved in order to conceal could cost you $1,106? Florida Statute 316.2085(3) states that the tag must be permanently affixed and clearly visible from the rear at all times. A violation of this statute is a violation and can be fined up to $1,106.

What is the intent of this statute? The intent is to prevent motorcycles from running from the police and flipping up their tag so the officer cannot obtain their information.

I had a client with just such a ticket this week and I was able to get him no points and a $250 fine.
